Melvin "Pat" Day CNZM (1923–2016) was a distinguished New Zealand artist and art historian, known for his 70-year career blending modernist abstraction with traditional painting techniques. A pioneer of New Zealand Cubism in the 1950s, he later served as Director of the National Art Gallery (1968–1978) and Government Art Historian.
