Mānawatia a Matariki w/ Ōtari Raranga Weavers
Sunday, 15 June
Workshop Two: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
As Matariki draws close, we invite you to join a special Matariki raranga (weaving) session lead by Frank Topia (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Haua) and Linda Lee (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Ngāti Huia, Ngāti Kurī, Ngāi Tākoto, Te Rarawa, Te Aupōri, Ngāpuhi).
Experience the traditions of raranga (weaving) as we begin with tikanga, connect with tīpuna (ancestors), and create whetū (stars) to celebrate Matariki and welcome in the new year.
You’ll leave with your own hand woven taonga.
A chance for you and your loved ones to create together, weaving memories and artwork in celebration of Matariki.
No Experience Needed – All Materials Provided!
Open to all participants aged 10 and above
We will have a kaputī (cup of tea) and pihikete (biscuit) break during the session.
Spaces are limited so secure your spot today!
$15 (unwaged) | $25 (waged)
