Drawing from one of the capital’s most public-facing private collections, Portraits from the Parkin Collection offers a selection of portraits by modern and contemporary artists from Aotearoa New Zealand.
This exhibition explores artworks from the collection of Wellington icons Sir Chris and Kathy Parkin. Featured are old favourites, new additions, and artworks not usually on public view, including works by Rita Angus, Nigel Brown, John Walsh and Fiona Pardington.

Access information: The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is an accessible venue, all on one level. There is an accessible wharepaku (toilet) at the back of the venue. The gallery has automatic sliding doors and glass doors that can be pushed or pulled to enter. We have a wheelchair available for use within the gallery, and there is low stool seating throughout.
