Whānau Day!

  • New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata Shed 11, 60 Lady Elizabeth Lane Wellington New Zealand (map)

Kick off the school holidays with a bang!
Join us for a fun-filled family day inspired by our exhibition Me: Artists Paint Themselves.

Get creative with hands-on activities like collage, painting, and drawing as we explore poses, emotions, and colour. You’ll get to make your own unique artwork to take home!

And don’t miss the FREE face painting (10am-12pm) – what or who could you become!?

Access information: The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is an accessible venue, all on one level. There is an accessible wharepaku (toilet) at the back of the venue. The gallery has automatic sliding doors and glass doors that can be pushed or pulled to enter. We have a wheelchair available for use within the gallery, and there is low stool seating throughout. You can find more accessibility information here. If you have any questions regarding accessibility or if there is something we could do to make your visit easier, please get in touch.
