Monthly Life Drawing

  • New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata Shed 11, 60 Lady Elizabeth Lane Wellington New Zealand (map)

Come along and give portraiture a go at our monthly koha life drawing sessions at the Gallery.

You’ll work through a mix of short and longer timed poses, with the option to bring your own materials or use the basic supplies available on site. The model for this session will be clothed.

Sessions run from 2 pm to 4 pm. Please arrive a little early to set up. We’ll pause for a brief kaputī (cup of tea) break halfway through. This is a koha event, and all contributions go directly to our models.

Interested in modeling? Contact us—we're always looking for sitters. Everyone is welcome to join!

Accessibility Information: The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is an accessible venue, all on one level. There is an accessible wharepaku at the back of the venue. The gallery has automatic sliding doors and glass doors that can be pushed or pulled to enter. We have a wheelchair available for use within the gallery, and there is low stool seating throughout.
