About the building:

The long, open building, built in 1904 as a waterside store, provides spacious and elegant surroundings for exhibitions and arts-related events. Look up and you can see the pulleys and beams used to move pallets and barrels through the building over one hundred years ago. The Gallery is located in the city’s cultural precinct and commercial heart. It is within walking distance of Wellington's Railway Station and bus interchange and numerous bus routes along Lambton Quay as well as Te Papa, Wellington Museum and City Gallery.

Parking is available on the waterfront off Customhouse Quay.

The Gallery is accessible by wheelchairAssistance animals are welcome. The Gallery is all on one level.

Visitors of all ages are welcome and baby buggies are welcome throughout the gallery. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised.

Public toilets are available at the back of the gallery, with wheelchair accessability.
