Entries for the Adam Portraiture Award 2018 are now open.

The Adam Portraiture Award is a biennial competition for painted portraits at The New Zealand Portrait Gallery, generously sponsored by the Adam Foundation. 

First Prize: $20,000
Runner up: $2,500
People’s Choice: $2,500

This year’s Judge is Angus Trumble, Director of the National Portrait Gallery of Australia in Canberra.

Conditions of entry can be found here.

  • Artist and subject(s) must be a New Zealand citizen.
  • Artist must have permission of the subject(s) or next of kin.
  • Painted portraits only will be accepeted e.g. oil, watercolour, pastel, acrylic.
